Cancer Patient Support Foundation Welcomes New Executive Director

The Cancer Patient Support Foundation (CPSF) has named Sarah Wallace-Brodeur as the new Executive Director. Wallace-Brodeur’s background in nonprofit management and fundraising, combined with her deep commitment to serving cancer patients and their families, will help to advance the mission of the organization that recently celebrated its 20th anniversary.

“We are thrilled to welcome Sarah as our new Executive Director,” says Kathryn Lagerstedt, Cancer Patient Support Foundation Board President. “She will bring a wealth of experience, enthusiasm, dedication and fresh ideas to our organization. We feel very lucky to have found her and look forward to working with her to achieve our vision that all can face cancer with dignity, confidence and serenity.”

Prior to joining CPSF, Wallace-Brodeur was the Senior Director of Operations at Vermont Family Network, where she held a number of roles over the past 16 years, including serving as interim director.

“I am deeply honored to lead the Cancer Patient Support Foundation,” says Wallace-Brodeur. “Cancer touches all of us, and I am excited about the opportunity to grow this incredible organization to support patients and their families throughout Vermont.”

Wallace-Brodeur graduated from the University of Vermont with a B.A. in Political Science in 1993. She and her family live in South Hero.

About Cancer Patient Support Foundation:

The Cancer Patient Support Foundation (CPSF) was established in 2001 to serve Vermont cancer patients and their families in a time of extraordinary need by providing financial assistance and support and acting as a resource during diagnosis, treatment and recovery. Since then, CPSF has awarded over $3 million to patients in need. Through its Emergency Fund, CPSF serves more than 500 patients every year throughout Vermont, partnering with medical providers and social workers who refer patients for support. CPSF relies on generous donations from individuals, local businesses, foundations and special events to help patients cover essential needs such as housing, utilities, food, transportation to treatment, and out-of-pocket medical expenses.
